Know exactly what you mean. Saturday was gloriously sunny by us, but blowing a gale.
That is right up until I went out to get some shots for the competition, then it went dull grey and overcast, with the wind blowing so hard I couldn't keep the camera still and have got movement blur with buildings!!

Getting there! Thanks to you guys

It is amazing what photos you can get if you look hard enough within easy walking distance of your house....just walk around and see what you find...

I find sunny weather rather boring for photos. Give me fog or snow any day, although I agree that flat grey overcast is the worst of all. My biggest problem is that the best light is at dawn but I am not known for being able to get out of bed that early. Later in the summer I probably won't have gone to bed so perhaps I shall venture out then.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

I'd be glad to give you what's in my backyard. It might change your mind about snow. I don't think you'd enjoy half an hour of snow clearing before being able to go to work.

That's the advantage of being retired, you can wait till it melts

I find the BBC weather website quite good, I check it frequently and its pretty up to date with changes etc, I find planning my photography around that works better than picking a date only to find its raining, I slso check it before setting off anywhere.
Difficult if you only have weekends or certain days available I know but if your more flexible over getting out and about its worth looking at.

If you wait for it to melt, you won't have any place to put your car or be able to go out for four months. Unless you let the white sh** bury your car so you can't even find it!

Unfortunately, you have to deal with it when the holiday is over.

I'm with you bforbes. As long as there is plenty of food in the house and beer in the fridge just stay indoors keep warm and wait for it to melt. CHEERS Vic.

This just reminds me a short story written as a diary of a man who moved to mountains First couple of days he loved everything and then his attitude started changing to yours
