Not being a kill-HDR... did this really need HDR? Or was it just tonemapping that was required?
If you have more than about 5 stops of difference in the contrast and need both the shadows and highlights then yes, HDR with multiple exposures is very helpful.
However, probably 75% of the "HDR" shots I've seen look as though they could have easily been a single, well exposed, shot.
Just my thought!
But the result is still good

To use an old Artizen image as an example:-
Imagine standing inside a dimly lit tunnel, with a view to the end of the tunnel and a sunny outside world . . .
How would you make one exposure to get the walls of the tunnel (almost black), and the view out of the end of the tunnel (in bright sunlight) correctly exposed.
Answer, you can't, not without some very, very expensive hardware. So you make two or more exposures to get each element of the scene exposed correctly, then use HDR software to mash them all together to produce one viewable image.

You'd have thought being a moderator on other sites, I'd get the hang of keeping an eye on threads, especially those I've posted in.
I'll go and have a read.

yes, love the warm sepia like tone, did you dodge the letter box or was that natural Nimitz?
No I didn't dodge the postbox - it is all natural - but a product of the HDR process. I made sure the tonemapping was like this so I had the result I wanted. yes, love the warm sepia like tone, did you dodge the letter box or was that natural Nimitz?
The light smoothing buttons changes the light in the picture. So it is just a matter of finding the right setting.
