The Oddest Camera

I have another batch of cameras here ready for eBay (when my migraine lets me) including the oddest thing I have found so far.

A home made 35mm camera.

I'll try and get an image of it later. It's based on a box, maybe a cut down box camera, with a Kodak rectilinear lens and shutter grafted on maybe from an old folder and with a hand built transaport mechanism. It has a specially made lens hood and filter holder assembly as well. Very curious.

It might appeal to someone who is really into bespoke engineering solutions!
Best regards, John

I don't think I've got the room for any more old cameras but I'd be very interested in seeing pictures of it

Doesn't have "Made in Winterpeg" on it, does it?

Hmmm. In my career, I have committed a number of "bespoke engineering solutions".

Excellent! Does it all seem to be working?

It does indeed seem to be working, but I wouldn't fancy it as my main camera!

To be honest, the type of shutter that has been used almost always works regardless of age. And without batteries...

It looks like the sort of thing my Dad used to cobble together, but then I grew up in a household with a home made television set...

Let us know when you've listed it, I'd be interested to see what it fetches

I have that very shutter on a little 127 Kodak Autographic.

OMG where did you find such a thing : and what sort of age do you think it is.

It looks like the fuel tank on my old lawn mower

I suspect that it might be late 1940s judging from the other stuff that came with it, and at the earliest mid 1930s. Hard to be sure though.

Very nifty snakeskin cover. Bet it was a looker in its day.
