After getting to know everyone last time I think it's time to start thinking about the next meeting.

So, ideas for dates and locations...?

One possibility:

Dragon Boat Festival, Leith, Sunday June 5th. Mentioned this briefly at the last get-together. If we think of something else to do on the Saturday in or around Edinburgh (shouldn't be difficult) we could even make a weekend of it.

...Or if people are looking for something more adventurous than Edinburgh there is the Highland Wildlife Park up near Aviemore. There's easily enough there to occupy a full day and the weekends of June 18-19 or June 25-26 would suit myself and the wife for that one as we'll be holidaying not too far from the area during that time anyway.

I think, "techno-terminator", suggested an architectural / photographical stroll around Glasgow, to follow on from our last meet ?

Not being a great fan of, Flora and Fauna, this appeals to me.

Maybe a walk from Hollyrood Palace, up The Royal Mile to Edinburgh Castle could be good too ?

Open to suggestions

Well since we are all aware that Edinburgh is superior to Glasgow in every possible way it would be the logical choice!

I do think we should stay in the central belt so those from the south could make it.

Of course Edinburgh may not be good for Barry. Once his family discover Jenners, Harvey Nicholas and the shops on Mulberry Walk he might not be able to afford the petrol home!

In your dreams. dream on

Actually, I was talking to a sixteen year old Embra boy recently who told me, "I've been to Glasgow once, its like Princes Street"

In fairness, whilst we have have Harvey Nicks, the QE2, the Festivals and Holyrood Palace you do have Primark, a Squinty Bridge, the Orange Parades and a very strangely shaped conference centre.

And whilst you have a tram museum we have trams on Princes Street. Well one tram anyway. And it hasn't moved in a year.

(This could go on for a while...)

Well, I can tell you that all our trams have moved once in the last 25 years, from one museum to another, and will do so again next year, so there!

We also have three branches of TK Maxx and I noticed garments by Lanvin reduced from £2800 to £289, I bought a £599 Louis Feraud jacket for £99.

Sadly, we have more Orange Walks than Northern Ireland and more parcel bombs sent to football managers than probably anywhere.

At least Edinburgh doesn't have state funded sectarian schools which sounds like a very good idea for moving and staying there I reluctantly concede.

Why not meet in the middle at Shotts.

What? Amongst poor people?

And what have I ever done to you? Have you listened to the Shotts and Dykehead Pipe Band?
