I particularly like 3 and 7, good tones/colour and composition.

I like 7&8. The sails of the boats really stand out against the dark moody sky.

Home ground for my husband. We visited there a lot when staying with the in-laws in Oldham.
# 3 is my favourite, with #8 a close second. Two very different photos and two different treatments, but both work and are just beautiful. I particularly like the unusual standpoint for #3.

Sorry guys - been hectic since I posted these! Thanks very much for the lovely comments, I really do appreciate it.
Dave, I would be more than happy to add to the competition you've mentioned, I'm pleased you think they are worth it!

Dave, Saddleworth unfortunately just falls outside the jurisdiction of the South Pennines

On no !!!!
I forgot that this particular competition is based on the Watersheds of the South Pennines. Pennine Prospects normaly works across the whole area including Saddleworth.
Apologies i got carried away seeing some very nice images
I will have to suggest a broader based competition.

I took the K-7 and the DA*50-135 and Sigma 10-20.
With the 10-20 at 10mm and mostly at f8 (I think):
And with the 50-135 at various apertures:
