The monster stopped the engines...

Past monday the Ingenio Concepción (sugar industry) finished with the annual “Zafra”, beginning in this way a 6 month industrial recess. The gigantic boilers stopped snorting steam and the thunder machines quietened.

Tried shot in the middle of chimney, but this was the most nearest I could get.

You do get interesting perspectives from your plane. Could maybe do with a person or vehicle in the shot somewhere to give it a sense of scale, but otherwise very good!

You can see a person in a red shirt just off centre right.

A bit more steep turn practice required, then

First at all, thanks for find my glasses.

Yes, the red shirt worker is the scale reference, but I found him later in the PP.

It is also possible to see at the top of chimney the commented “focal plane shutter aberration” https://www.pentaxuser.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5912&sid=507371c342b026c27f... If you measure the circle will see an oval-shaped one. Curiously the other lower circles (evaporators) are not affected because of the difference of altitude to the airplane (the relative speed with the aircraft are slightly different). The image was taken at about 400 feet above the ground and the chimney height more or less 130 feet.

Best regards.

This image is from today (12-NOV-2007). I think I am a little closer to the goal.

You can see in the chimney leftmost side a preoccupying long fissure. Can you see?

Best regards.

This monster stopped his engines 39 years ago, and never started again! Died together with other 16 ingenios of Tucumán in the past 1968´s.

Hi beavo,

These images were taken from a Piper Super Cub PA-18 (150 HP).

Do you fly too?

Best regards.

A Cessna 172 for aerial photography work.

- my father is the qualified pilot but I'm trying to find the time and money to get a licence myself.

I just noticed that the images were taken with a 50mm! The rules on altitudes must be a little more relaxed over there
