The Kennel in the sky has called

Sadly my faithful hound of 16 years, Lucky, passed away on Sunday morning.

For the best part of the last year, she had been suffering from canine dementia; not recognising her name, no longer acknowledging people, getting stuck in silly places and so on.

Even though I've felt for some time that her time was near, now that it has happened I feel utterly lost and devestated (an empty space where her bed lay, her eating bowl now stored away, and most of all, no Lucky herself).

She was only a small dog, but the hole she has left is huge.
And of course, she can also take the credit for my interest in photography, in that I bought my first digital camera (Casio point'n' shoot), to accompany us on our daily walks.

Sorry for your loss. People without pets don't realise how hard it can be when they go. That last photo is superb and made me smile which I guess is what it is all about.

She had a good long life, and she looks to have been a great character.
I know how hard it is lose a beloved dog. Take time to grieve for her, and look after yourself.

You clearly adored your dog Adrian and I send you my heartfelt condolonces. I don't quite know how I would feel if we were to lose our dog Daisy; all I can say is to remember the love she gave and use your beautiful photos to remind you of her.

sorry to hear of your loss. However, with these phtos you have some great memory joggers. We have had dogs since we first got married andalways look back at the photos with a smile.

Losing a friend and a family member is never easy. RIP Lucky.

I well remember losing our dogs when their time came - I don't think I could do it again.They really are part of the family.

Sorry to hear of your loss .. my parents lost their cat last week (road accident), also called Lucky, and were devastated.
16 years is a long time to have had her so the loss will be acute. The pain will pass, your memories of her never will.

It's devastating losing a dog - a friend - and it always leaves a hole. Your photos of her are beautiful and when you look at them, you will remember the good times you had together.
She will always be with you, even if not physically.

The passage of time will diminish your pain, and your memories will be all the more vivid.

I have a picture of my first ever dog, Keri, on my bedside table, even though I had four other dogs since him, each with their own character. All are very dear to me, and all now gone forever except for my memories of them.

RIP Lucky.
