The days the rain came

In the northeast it rained Thursday night through to Friday night, this is the river Wear in Durham on Saturday morning.

Nasty. Notice how the older buildings and the bridge are built well clear of the flood level!

Thankfully the Avon isn't affected, although I have had my fair share of problems living on it, in my boat, over the past couple of years.
