After carfull consideration and the realisation that I've not use my Sigma EX 70-200 f2.8 APO DG since September last year I have decided to let it go to raise some funds for a 77mm Limited, I'll still have my DA50-200 to cover this range also the DA*50-135 is very tempting.

The lens is in 9++ (a few minor scuffs on the hood). Boxed and with its original Sigma soft case.

Do you think £450 including p+p (worldwide) is fair asking price?
Cheers
Brian.

I'd say 450 was a fair price...As Australians would say it's a 'fair dinkum' lens....

Would be tempted but I have the pre-DG....and I loves it

When I finally acquire the 60-250, it's my 70-300 APO Macro that makes way....the 70-200 and 100-300 will still be used on film..

I would be interested in it if it is the DG version as you say. I live in merseyside contact me on [email protected] if your mate doesn't come through.

Well I bought Brians lens and the weather was OK today so I took it on a family trip to Speke hall. I am very pleased with it, even used handheld to photograph subjects I wouldn't usually use it for. Here are a few examples from today, no works of art just a few happy snaps.

1 The back of the hall (used to be the front apparently)

2 Haven't a clue what this is I just liked the look of it, shows the bokeh of the lens quite well.

3 Just a detail but lots of it

Thanks for looking. I think this lens will get a lot of use.

Personally I think Brian will miss the lens! I have the Tokina ATX-Pro equivalent and find it just as useful with digital as I did with film - a 70/80-200 F2.8 is a fantastic tool for all sorts of stuff, especially when mated to a decent 2x TC - portraiture, sports, candid, wildlife etc:

I think it's the well-known problem of lens overlap, rather than any fault of the lens itself.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great lens but as I mentioned in my orginal post I have not used it in anger since September 2006, the DA50-200 suits me at the moment also the new DA* lenses look very attractive and much more portable.

After trying the Pentax 1.7x and the Sigma 2x I will not be looking for another, just don't like using them my (old eyes don't like dim veiwfinders).
Cheers
Brian.
