Hi Guys..

I want to investigate tethering my K5ii/K-7 up to a computer. Can anyone give me any advice or pointers as how to best go about this ? Which is the best/easiest software to use ?

I think this is the only software that at this time will do it.

Thanks Dangie, Ive just been looking through the past threads and have come across that program. I also found out, I can use Lightroom. So I think I will have to do some experiments between the two.

Lightroom only supports Canon and Nikon DSLR's and the Leica S2, no support for Pentax I'm afraid

PK_Tether is your only option at the moment

Here's Adobe link to supported cameras....

LBA is good for you, a Lens a day helps you work, rest and play.

It's a work around but means that Lightroom does support Pentax but we need PK Tether to bring it all together !
Sorry!! I beg to differ, Lightroom supports reading files from a specified watch and store folder which has nothing to do with supporting Pentax DSLR's.

BTW, Picasa will read and refresh your "store" folder without having to create a seperate "watched folder"

I wish Lightroom would support tethered shooting for Pentax Cams. Reading files from a watch folder has nothing to do with Tethered shooting.

Isn't this more an issue with pentax bodies not being able to be tethered rather than a lightroom issue?

Thats why i went the eye-fi route, not ideal but a reasonable work-a-round when shooting portraits.

If you connect the K-5 HDMI output to the televisions HDMI input then the television will take the place of the K-5's rear screen. Whatever would be on the rear screen e.g. Live View or Review will now show on the TV. Not tethered shooting but instant display.

This will also work using standard Video Out. It also works with projectors.

Unfortunately i cannot drag a laptop around wthi me in the club so an eye fi and ipad is a great combination. The new cards are a lot faster than the old cards.
