testing pentax 100 2.8 smc dfa sharpness

I am testing the sharpness of this pentax lens I have just bought and since it it my first macro lens I would like to tap in to some of your expertise regarding the quality of the lens. I have posted a bunch of pictures below and please don't hesitate to ask if you want 100% crops of any part of the pictures.

All are jpeg straight from the K10D with the settings

Saturation: +1
Sharpness: +2
Contrast: -1

I'm not really quallified to comment, but I know Heston has an eye for detail if you were in the vacinity....

I wonder if he Roux the day he moved to Bray.

Just that a detailed close up subject with lots of lines, shapes and fine detail would have been better. How about a map or newspaper at different apertures?

Don't forget to make sure the camera back is exactly parralel to the subject.

I don't know why you have the contrast at -1 they all look flat. You would also be better setting the sharpness to 0 for testing. Jpegs get sharpened a bit anyway. The box with a coin in front won't look sharp because you haven't enough DOF at that distance. The coin itself looks OK. The leaves don't look sharp but the lighting looks dull and at f/2.8 only 1 or 2 leaves will be in focus. It's better to test on something flat such as a small box with barcodes and lettering on it.
