Sorry, but it's widely accepted that portraits in front of pretty flowers just don't work. Might be better OOF, but there are much better backgrounds available. Do they do table cloths with really rough bushland on them ?

Gainsborough or Frans Hals were the experts on backgrounds

Lovely eyes, but background spoils it. Sorry

Edit; Did a quick try on blurring the background in PSE but that did not improve it.

I don't mind the background too much although it does seem a little dated

More importantly for me though is that her eyes don't seem to be quite in focus, but her bra is! Which bit were you focussing on?

here is another test shot while I was setting up:
this one my boy climbed in... The chair at least matches the backdrop.. I chased him off for a bath, hot dogs and ketchup all over him lol!

I'm just trying to find something actually looks retro...
the model I have coming over next week does a retro styled burlesque dance routine.
Everybody shoots her in b&w and Sepia...
I figure f' it, I can do color, modern and retro at once....
Gerri hates the backdrop, but I'm thinking it can work.

What about some draped velvet which could look really sumptous?

Also, what's with that nasty flash reflection?

Don try reposting Gerri in BW. That might get a bit Retro, and minimise the amazing background. Just remember - they can't shoot you for doing your thing! (although some might try)

he jumped in while I was just setting up...we all know flash glare is simple pool table bank shot, get the right angle and it's gone..

Well I quite like it actually. It suits Gerri's colouring. It is old fashioned but maybe that is the new fashion?
I agree her lovely eyes aren't in focus though.

I think Jill Greenberg had some commercial work with these types of busy backgrounds a couple years back...

lenscrafters ads, I believe... saw it somewhere.
