That is a beautiful and intriguing portrait, invoking all manner of interpretations. Mine is that the blonde is checking the other girl's eye after punching her - note the bruising on her hand!

Yes, the dark marks on the fingers do catch the attention a bit. Also, there seems to be a different amount of processing on the skin tones of the two models.
Having said that, it's a nice idea and it could be superb with just a few touches here and there.

The lady is a street makeup artist,

Knowing the lady is a makeup artist explains the postures, beautifully taken

Sad to say I don't get it, are we photographers or philosophers ?
Is this a challenging photo or is it a statement of something I don't see as relevant; , don't get it sorry.
Does this stack up as a photographic " wow moment"
It is an "Iphone moment " not an awsome image taken by an awesome photographer on awsome equipment in challenging conditions.
What are we thinking ?

As I said , sorry I don't get it and would be the first to admit it is likely a shortcoming on my part but as regards awesome images Billidad is a photographer who really does have an extraordinary feel and artistic skill with people and portrait work and I am a great admirer of that work, in particular the absolutey wonderful artistry that Billdad brings to it as demonstrated in the many photos previously posted; but in this case I don't quite understand the comments.
As I said above that could be a shortcoming on my part; as for the word awesome; run through Bills portfolio then awesome is a word that readily comes to mind when you look at such wonderful style, composition , imagery and photographic skill depicted there, not just in the portraiture and people catagory but in all the other photograhic catagories.
In the case of "Tender Hands" , it is a nice photo but I don't understand the thread of some of the comments; and still don't.
Not to repeat myself that could be me.

As I said before, the skill of this photo is in the gamut of interpretations that could be read into it; I would prefer not to have known the true context. The blonde's concentrated expression and gentle touch with her hand implies an intimacy which could be read as adoration whilst the other girl by contrast is indifferent. Are they lovers? sisters? Or am I alone in this?

Sorry Robl. I cropped the image initially to hide the obvious nature of her profession and felt there was a mystic in her expression and gaze. John you are very observant in the pp of the image, I smoothed out the blond ladies skin and left the other , emphasizing what her profession is.As I said before, the skill of this photo is in the gamut of interpretations that could be read into it; I would prefer not to have known the true context. I really have missed this forum, predominantly on the varied input, looking forward to more submissions and constructive dialogue
