I tried a T/C a while ago with the 55-300 (tamron 1.4) my recommendation would be don't bother - too slow and IQ suffers too much

I've got a kenko which is pretty good, see my Merganser shot. It suffers, quality wise, unless used in good light. The af is a bit slow, hunts a bit, but other than that it's a good piece of kit.

The 1.4x-s is OK on the 55-300mm. MF only.

On ebay £100-£200+ A dealer would probably be nearer to £100. They seem rarer than the 1.7x's though.
