Hello All,

By any chance anyone using Pentax tc x1.4 with Sigma 100-300 f4 ?
I seen many reviews about tc and da 300f4 but can't find anything about Sigma.
If anyone give me any advice about Sigma 100-300 and Pentax tc x1.4 I will by vary thankfull.

Drop Mike p a message he has had a sigma 100-300 and used it with a pentax 1:4 converter

I've had a Sigma 100-300 for about 25 years, its one of the early ones with the peeling paint, but the optics are superb and and its a cracking lens, I've used mine on film camera's as well as a K5ii / K3ii and a K1, I have had it with the matched 1.4 TC but with digital I prefer to crop and keep the maximum aperture.

The lens hooked to the K3ii is my go to setup for aircraft, particularly the Mach Loop or sat at the end of the runway at Brize Norton.

K3ii - Sigma 100 - 300 F4 @ 200mm - F20 - 100 ISO - 1/80 sec

K3ii - Sigma 100 - 300 F4 @ 100mm - F5.6 - 3200 ISO - 1/2000 sec

Not any more, prefer to maintain F4 and crop as required.

I understand, but Pentax tc it works fine with sigma 100-300 yes ?
I want to know if AF works fine.

AF works ok (obviously not as good as withought though) and unlike the Sigma teleconverters it even reports the correct focal length in the exif for image stabilisation. Remember it's not a full frame converter though so if it's for the K-1 you have to shoot in crop mode. Works extremely well on the K-3II.
