Tamron 90mm macro

Not the Di version but i have just purchased a second hand one and it seems to take very good images,but, was wondering if anyone has one and is the lens recessed so much in their copy is it missing something

The shorter macro lenses are very much recessed. It's normal. It does look as though you might be missing a bayonet hood though.

I have the previous version to that (non AF adaptall 2 mount) and if anything it is recessed even more.
I kept wondering the same when I first got it.
