tamron 28mm adaptall 2

Hi all have just picked up the tamron 28mm adaptail 2 for my pentax k5 but cant take any pictures it came with pentax k adapter can anyone please let me know if they know how to fix problem.

Maybe a bit more info would help.
1. is the lens mounting on the camera OK.
2. is the mount a P/K or a P/KA
3. have you set the focal length of the lens in the camera.
4. what mode do you have the camera set to.
5. are you able to focus and get the green hexagon to show up.

Apologies if I am teaching my granny to suck eggs.

when you mount the lens on the camera and turn it on the rear screen should ask you to "Input Focal Length" use the rear wheel to select 28 and press OK.

On mine the green hexagon showing you are in focus has to be lit up before the shutter will fire.

Using the P/K or M mount means the camera cannot read/set the aperture setting of the lens. So you have to set the lens with the aperture ring and use the green button on the back of the K5 to get an exposure. (half press the shutter and press the green button) you should hear it lock onto an exposure and if the green Hex is lit the shutter should operate when you press all the way.

Not sure about the K-5, but with the K-x/K-r you also need to set 'use aperture ring' to 'permitted' in order to use manual lenses. This will be the cause of the flashing 'f' box.

Press the left button on the four-way controller to get to the Custom Settings menu
Press the down button on the four-way controller and select Using Aperture Ring
Press the down button on the four-way controller, select Permitted and press the OK button.
Press the Menu button to exit the Custom Settings menu

The shutter should fire whether or not the green hexagon is lit (with the K-x anyway) unless catch in focus is set to on.

Just to add to what Barrie said. You need to set to "permitted" the option of using the aperture ring, which is in the custom menu

Not sure if it makes any difference but I set the Mode dial to "M" and the focus selection to "MF"
