I've heard good things on the Dutch forum about the Tamron 28-75/2.8 but nothing about the lens Tamron 28-70

Always seemed a bit of a funny focal length to me, probably better for full frame I would have thought (a bit like my Sigma 24-60mm f2.8 ).
Have a look on Flickr if you want an idea of IQ but isn't it a bit late now if the lens is already on it's way from America

The Tamron 28-75mm is a cracking lens for the price. I sold mine as I didn't think 28mm was wide enough for a walk-about & I started carrying a few primes as my preferred kit.
It's a little plasticky, but is good quality plastic with a decent build & the obvious advantage to this is less weight.
If you think 28mm is wide enough for you then I don't think you'd be disappointed.

Pink you're looking for a portrait lens or not?
I think for the head shoulder shots the 50-*** lenses would be good. I've used my only frequently but before that I used the DFA100 + DA40 a lot in the studio.
For outdoors the 50-*** would also be nice for indoors/studio you might find the 24/28-70/75 lens more versatile.
The wide angle is more then wide enough for full body shots and the tele end is also very good for the head and shoulder shots.
It comes down quite a lot with personal choice, some like to come close but I like to keep some distance.
ps. I believe Nathan use the DA*50-135 quite a lot for his shoots why don't you ask him, he has more knowledge/experience with this then me at least

I like to keep some distance as well It then give me the opportunity to stay out or come in close with out crowding the Clients esp children It can spook them I may go (i will be getting) for a 50 135 for my next lens
