Tamron 19AH and Tripod?

OK, I have a Tamron 19AH 70-210mm f/3.5 which weighs 30oz and it doesn't have a tripod support.

Is it possible to use this on a tripod? Or am I risking damaging my camera?

A camera ought to able to take any 70-210mm lens with ease, but you do need a sturdy tripod so it doesn't cause more shake than hand holding.

I've recently bought a ball head off Ebay - Benro OEM or knock off (£35 inc postage). I thought it was worth a risk at that price!




And I'm looking at a Red Snapper tripod that another member recommended to me. Can anyone else recommend a good sturdy (reasonably light) tripod that will allow me to get down low for macro photography at a good price?

Keep trawling Ebay - If you can get used to the single locking bolt system a Uni-loc or Benbo would be ideal for both general and Macro work.

My Uni-loc cost me £30 off ebay and is rock solid and infinitely adjustable.

I have just bought a redsnapper tripod and monopod.
They are both on offer atm and it worked out with the special prices that I basically got both for the original tripod price (and I was going to buy it at normal price anyway).
I have heard nothing but good things about them, their ball heads are supposedly excellent as well.

Edit: Goodness, theres a lot of prices in that statement.

Ooooo... that's a good offer with the 3 way head, might just have to do that.
