Has any one seen this lens for Pentax.

It's only available in Canon & Nikon mounts, as far as I'm aware.

The examples on AP look very, very soft and only approved for Canikon users who aren't that fussy. Lots of CA and barrel distortion too.

and ap gave it a 4 star rating any 3rd party lens should not get that sort of rating as they are not offering it across the board

No Stu, they get an extra star if it's NOT available for Pentax !

Tamron know Pentax users are connoisseurs so didn't believe this lens was appropriate for them. They'll no doubt team up with Pentax to make the Pentax branded super-duper version.

Not great is it my 70/300 gives better shots than that

I would expect better results at the long end would be achieved by cropping an image taken with a more modest lens.

Not a lens I would use but it shows an amazing amount of engineering to get that zoom range.
