Takumar catastrophe averted

Having won a 24mmf3.5 Super Takumar
the happy arrival was in the box this morning.
First sight of the package was a bit scary with a single layer of newspaper around it and the rattling sound from inside
Luckily it was in its case ...
but unluckily that was an issue ...

oh goody they rolled it in flour before posting ...good grief.
may as well have, it was the crystallized glue from under the case lining
Better take pics to initiate the return proceedure

out with the vacumn cleaner and soft brush ...
Looks very clean inside when I had the courage to remove the blessed caps.
Might be a happy ending?
Better try some shots
I like the field of view
f3.5

prerequisite onion flower
seems pretty sharp, surprised it focuses within 6 or 7 inches.

definitely less contrast and colour than new lenses.
Tried bumping jpeg settings in cam.

may not be terribly flattering for portraits
Looks like I might keep it

I am dusting off my 3.5 28mm SMC Tak and my 4.0 100mm SMC Macro Tak as we speak - gotta give them an airing as soon as this dratted virus subsides and I can take a photo without coughing ( no - it`s not the dust on the lenses !! )

Transit - I thought you had given me the solution I need for a problem but then I saw where you where! I need some corrugated plastic tube, just like that in your fifth image and it looks just the right size and I cannot find any here.

Actually a good save there! I am glad you are able to get superior results from such a situation. Great cleaning job.
