Tablet screen quality

I am using the tablet just to surf the net, check my email account, read some news and watch some Youtube and other video. No replacement for my stationary PC with Eizo screen and PS plus Capture One for RAW.
The Apple tablets are beyond my budget for a tablet, even though I am aware of the Retina screen.
Back to my humble question as appears in the beginning of the thread - anybody has any comment?

Of the 2 choices you listed, I'd have a tendency to opt for the Sammy. Mind you, I'm led to believe that there's a new incarnation of the Google Nexus about to launch (or has only just launched). I've also toyed with the idea of investing in a Kindle Fire HD, since it looks amazing too.

I'll be interested to hear your experience with it.

My netbook is getting old and I'm looking for a Windows replacement. Doesn't have to be a tablet, but does have to be small and portable, which makes the Surface Pro (or possibly the RT, though RT seems to be a dead end) attractive. Since I am one of the few in the world who seems to get on with W8 I shall be happy to switch. Plus my phone can talk to W8 better than it does to W7.

His Nibs has a Samsung Tab 2 and is very happy with it. The screen quality is good in my experience, and easy to view in bright light. The glossy screen can be a nuisance, but you can't have everything.

I have the Galaxy Tab 2 7" GT-P3110 Wifi only. It can now be had for £127 from Dixons Retail in UK airports. I got it for £137 with £30 cashback and an extra 8GB micro SD card a few months ago. What I like about it is that even with the protective Samsung case it slips into the inside pocket of a suit jacket removing the need for a manbag. It's running Android 4.2.2 . I mainly use it for email and web browsing. I also have RawDroid on it for viewing raw files. It has GPS so is a good on the go map. I have a £2 3rd party Galaxy Tab OTG connection 5 in 1 adaptor for it which takes SD cards and I've just bought a 7Dayshop case and qwerty keyboard for £3.99. The downsides are the lack of mini usb port and the Samsung specific interface connector. The other downside is the onscreen keyboard can take up a significant amount of the screen on some web pages when inputting.
