I wonder wheher you may have caught the focus with the branch to the front of this beautiful bird Don?
I see these in country Victoria, and I know how hard they are to catch sitting still! They are incredibly busy little birds.

Thats more than likely, was hand held and all very quick, hoping to get another go with a longer lens before we head north

They're fast little buggers that rarely sit still (except the plain brown females) so you should be happy with that shot.
