I eventually decided it was too gloomy and adjusted it a bit before uploading it to Flickr which has broken the image link above. Pity we can't edit old posts! This is the latest version:

The extra post has improved it Tim. Regarding the crop, it feels to me that the image has two distinct 'halves' - one with the sunflower, the other with the lilac coloured buds (?) in the background bokeh. Just my 0.02 pence...
