Suitable Monopod for Airshows

This'll be largely down to personal preference. I prefer Manfrotto products.
Choose one that can properly stabilise, as best a monopod can, the weight of your camera and lens. The important consideration is the strength of the head. You will not want anything to break whilst your gear is attached.
I'll be going to Aire '09 at San Javier, Murcia, Spain this year. I shot Aire '06 with a Sigma 70-300 APO Macro Super in 2006 but I have some better glass now and hope to improve on my images from that one.

I use a Manfrotto 681B and a Manfrotto 486RC2 ball head, this is a very sturdy piece of kit which I can recommend. Look on morrisphoto.co.uk for a good range of monopods and heads. I can recommend them.
The older I get the faster I was.

Thanks for your comments. The heaviest combination will be a K20D and a DA*300 so the Manfrotto kit as suggested by Mr Mellow looks like it will suffice.
Have also looked at SRS and they stock both items as well

Looks like it's fallen victim to the recession.

I have a Giottos 3290B 5-section monopod with Manfrotto 486RC2 ball head. I use this with my K10D + Sigma 100-300mm lens and supports this weight easily.

There's so many on the market has anyone got any suggestions? I'm going to most of the UK shows weather permitting and also going to Le Bourget in Paris as well so it will get some use although I have read that sometimes they can be somewhat restrictive but it will allow me to take some shots in museums where they don't allow tripods.
Regards
Rob
