Studio experience, East Mids
Appreciate that this might be something that photoclubs can enable and I see the advantage in sharing what could be quite expensive.
I've seen internet voucher companies offering small group studio experiences so this is why I wonder if any members can help.
Thanks for any ideas
Your right... Photographic/Camera clubs are probably your best bet... But the type of photography your interested in trying needn't be massively costly... You can learn the techniques and get good results with a manual flashgun (YN560 £50ish), some cheap ebay radio triggers
Personally I'd steer clear of these 'experience' companies and join a local club (or group - Facebook is of use here) meet people steal their expertise and borrow their gear...

then checking out their websites for info or try phoning them , a lot of studios do workshops at small cost .
I attend a studio in my area at present , they do two evenings a month (creative circle ) shooting five models over 3hrs for fifteen quid each night , all profits go back into the creative circle to fund the group.
They also do workshops , which depending on the nature of the workshop cost between thirty - hundred quid of course the workshop money all goes to the studio owner ,but the studio is owned by a recognized top notch photographer who gives excellent advice and tuition 'most the time for free'
P.S try to find a studio were teaching photography is not there main source of income , they will be costly !
Later, you can fire models through the studio or through websites such as Purestorm.

Why would you want to do that?

Let's try again: Later you can find models.....etc.,
It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head. Henri Cartier-Bresson
Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Are there any other Midlands based forum members who might fancy banding together to share an evening?
I feel this is the route for me as I don't think I have the time to properly commit to a photo club.
Must ensure we have access to a flameproof model.
Most clubs will have a syllabus on their website... Check them out, see if there's anything coming up that you fancy, go and if you like it cool, if not, no harm done...

The studio itself has several rooms including an infinity room, and will cope with 6 togs, 8 at most. Last time it cost me £60 to cover studio and models.
What do you think all? Pentax studio meet?
I hope a few others fancy it as I'm sure there are lots of members within easy travel distance of Chesterfield.
Fingers crossed we see a few more wanting to give it a go.

Does anyone have any experience of local (East Mids) studios that allow in and maybe even help interested Pentaxians to get a chance to try this style of photography.
