That first one looks like one of our House Spiders - perhaps he hitched a ride on one of the thousands of student backpackers we seem to exchange with you every year?

I have discovered that these redeyed bugs are very inquistitive or like getting there picture taken. They seem to come from everywhere to see what i'm doing whenever i have my camera handy.

They both fired its just the spider was sitting on the part of the leaf which had curled up 90degrees, like a ledge and the leaf behind was acting as a wall behind it. I couldn't get in close enough to get each head on either side of the spider and pointed the flash straight on. By the way, did just one side of your flash rig fire on that first spider pic?

Ah, okay. Just thought as it had happened before, it might have happened again, and it would be worth rectifying before it became a regular problem.
Lighting things close up is always a problem.
