Strange one

The other day I was uploading photos off my SD card into my computer.
I ejected the card and went to put into the camera and it wouldn't go in.
The next day I tried it again and it entered. I was putting it in the right way round, the card from slot two wouldn't go in previously.
Being a KI II there is no option to tell the camera which card to use, so when I switched it on this morning it was reading slot two (no images found),so I took the card out of slot two and the images on slot one card were shown.
All very strange to me.
Anybody else had a similar problem?

Hi
Have you considered dust etc on the card, contacts or in the relevant slot? Just a thought!!

I did but when everyting worked the following morning I have left it.
Annoying as this series of camera does not let you choose which card slots to use as the K3 does.

That is certainly odd. If it was not for the fact that normality has returned, I would be thinking warped SD card. A puzzle indeed.

Best wishes

Just a thought. Would it be worth you posting your scenario on the US Pentax forum. I posted a query on our forum a few weeks ago. No-one seemed interested, so I tried the US one. The moderator came back by return with some helpful advice as did several members.

The K-1/K-1 II does not have a direct menu method to tell the camera which card you wish to use first, but there is a trick that works........

If you want to use card slot 1, put a card in that slot, no card in slot 2. Turn camera on and now card slot 1 has priority. You may insert another card into slot 2 and it will not change the priority. The only way to get slot 2 to be the first card the camera writes to is to turn the camera on with a card only in that slot.
