Stereo adapter D set

Hi all

Stumbled on this on the Japanese Pentax site:

Is a 52mm "filter" that creates a stereo image. Sounds completely whacky and a great deal of fun.

If anyone's got one, let me know what it's like!!

Ithink I've seen those bfore. seem to recall sterio photo equipmen atricles in 70's pop photo mags.
poor mans workaround was to mount a rail (i used a piece of a flash bracket that had slots cut into it for sliding the camera left-right, for alining the lens with the flash), and firing 2 shots moving the lens latterly 3 inches (approx the space between your eyes). between shots, and mounting bothe shots side by side and then holding a piece of paper (not really nessacery) between the eyes while viewing.
soory for the speelling- I can't seem to get the dyslexia thing under control this morning.

These were around ever since the days of the screw-thread mount.

I saw some professional stereo colour slide sets once, and they were superb.

There are a couple of genuine Pentax ones (I think for 35mm only) on eBay at the moment (search for 'Pentax stereo') and there's quite a good description at the following link:

If you check out the Loreo website, http://www.loreo.com/, you'll see that you need the T version for APS sized sensors.
There are also some sample images that you can view on your monitor and approximate the effect of by slightly crossing your eyes.

The Loreo fits on the camera without a supporting lens, whereas you have a choice of lenses with the Pentax version (49 or 52 mm filter thread).

Looks like exactly the sort of gadget of dubious value that I probably don't need but will end up purchasing.

The Pentax one has a 52mm thread that goes on the end of an existing lens.

I have their old kit for SLIDES and love it, and would like them to confirm I would be able to use, and would just need to get the glasses and perhaps a few pairs so I could share it with my friends and family and start to re-take pictures with it.

Hopefully it will come to Canada someday soon and hope HOYA doesn't stop this cute idea.
