Yes Gareth the highlights on his arm do look a bit contrasty in the mono picture but your conversion has lost some of the skin textures in his hand.

Had a steamy day on Saturday. First by train to York to visit the National Rail Museum where I photographed the 1880s freight loco 'Maud'. It was sent to France as transport back up during World War One and went on working on British railways until the 1950s. I then went to the main line to see newly restored A4 Pacific loco Bittern in its fresh blue livery hauling the Great Britain IV charter train.
It was then back to Durham for a quick sandwich and an evening drive to Beamish Museum which staged a photo night as part of its Festival of Steam.
