When I'm not shooting steam trains or framing modern architecture I just love street grab shots. Here are some of my latest efforts in Newcastle

Go back there! I really like the set up.
No.1 is the pick for me. nice simple colours, overpowering pink slabbed out dominating. The figure mundanely pulling a trolley. The trolley the only pattern. Caught mid step arm and leg raised.

Though I like the others, 2 he perhaps needs a little more space to walk into, but he's following the damp line, nice. 3 he should be another step on. And 4, the hole is overpowering. perhaps a long crop might work.

I'm being hypercritical.

I'd be back there waiting for 4 men carrying a piano to walk past. You could get a whole series.
Lurking is shirking.!

Yes, I like the first one, David. The door gives the girl something to move towatds. But the clashing colours are what makes it for me.
Best wishes,

Andrew

You certainly found a good location for your captures. Good work!

Nummbers one and three do it for me, especially number one, there's a nice minimilism about it and I love the mad pink colour!

Number 1 for me too. I'd crop the doorway on the left out though, to give it even more of a minimalist feel.

Love the crazy pinkness.

Great stuff David. I agree, 1 or 3 are both wonderfully minimalist and I would consider cloning or cropping out the door on both of them.

I like the low angle perspective of number one and you must have been quick to get the leg and trolley at the same angle. Number three might have benefited from the odd step to separate him from the door. Now I like the door, it adds just the interest to a slab of plain colour.

I'm still blinking at that shade of pink - it really has given such a shot in the arm to the photos.

Thanks for your comments - No. 1 is my pick too. Barrie likes the doorway - and so do I for the same reason he gives and that's that's why I left it in.
I didn't get the titles on these pics when I uploaded them but No. 2 is called 'Exit Left' and that's why he's well across the frame, as if he's heading to that door.
Is that colour pink? I would call it magenta.

My pick is the first. These photos remind me of my time in Mexico. Very Legoretta.

I'll follow the crowd with this one and say I love number 1. I think the door should stay.

I agree about the door staying......it gives a bit more depth and adds a bit of context if that makes sense.
