No2 for me, the eye is drawn to the daffs and away from the background.

My vote for the second as well, even some detail in the sky not too easy at this time of the year you either have 100% grey or very bright blue that gives such a hard light.

I prefer number 2, too.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

One of the reasons I think the second shot is better is the reduced sky area. The sky takes the eye away from the daffs. Also in No. 2 the flowers are much more prominent.

While were at it, why don't we clone out:
The lamp post.
The traffic lights
The telecoms cabinet
The trunking across the bridge.
The pipe across the bridge.
The house at the end of the bridge.

Kris! What have those roses done to be shut out of the pic? Sure! They are not vibrant now but come a few more weeks and the daffs will be but a memory but those roses...they will give pleasure for the rest of the summer. I like the first pic for that reason and a challenge...take a pic of the roses in two months time and show us what a splendid show they give.

I was in the same area last year but the Daffs were just going off and the photos I took then just did not do anything for me. I made a point this year to make sure I got the photos I wanted I will go back to the scene later in the summer to see what display the roses make and take photos from the same point.

No. You are looking at Phil's photo, I was referring to mine. Teach me to hijack someone else's thread.
