Spotmatic Sp mirror spring

I recently found a Spotmatic Sp that is in complete working condition except that the spring that resets the mirror after each use is about a millimeter too short to reach the lever it's supposed to reset. I suppose that it must have been deformed over the years. Any suggestions on how to reform it so it is longer or to fashion a new one?
