Spider

Any spider experts out there I would welcome as to what this one is. Taken using the DA 35mm f2.8 macro lens and then processed in Camera Raw by desaturating the distracting background.

It looks like a common, or garden, orb web weaving spider. I don't know the correct terms for them but they appear in their thousands this time of year and sit right in the middle of their webs, waiting for prey - or stupid people who blunder into them, first thing in the morning since they put their web right across the garden path!

They may appear in their thousands at this time of year but not always easy to get good images, so congrats to Paul and David for some super shots of my morning walk companions!
