OK envy aside and all the ravings that go with it... nice photo's like the post processing too...... if you have a shot of the Lotus the 80's shot would look superb

Thank you all for the positive feedback, much appreciated and yes I do know how much of a lucky git I am!
@ John, I may be wrong but can you just plug in a usb card reader into your Android tablet? Sure you can on the Samsungs not sure about the others though.
@ Tim, have only used it on this one occasion so far but it does look to be a great addition to the kit.
It's very simple to use, put in card reader, then SD card and your photos come up on screen, then select some images or all of them and import them. K-5 RAW files are supported natively so no problems there. Files show up in your photo albums as either 'all imported' or 'last import'.
Once imported it was easy to sort through them and delete the not very good ones so when I got home and connected it to the MacBook the only images that were imported into Aperture were the ones I had already decided to keep.
Raw files don't get touched and any edited files when saved are saved into the 'Camera Roll' automatically. The Mac could see both of the 'Last Import' and All Imported' folders as well as the 'Camera Roll'.
It all worked out pretty seamless to be fair and will most definately come in very useful. After this morning shooting the Peregrines I was longing for a bracket to put on the tripod to hold it, so will be going accessory shopping soon!
Downsides... if you have photo stream enabled, as soon as you get wifi it will start uploading 20mb plus RAW files to the cloud! As photo stream can have 1,000 images on it 20 + GB of raw files going up will either be a nightmare or a god send free secondary backup depending on your point of view. Also if you intend to fill the iPad with films then you need to be careful to leave enough space for your photos.
Other positives, I had downloaded all the free copies of F11 magazine to read on the plane, I have downloaded the full K-5 manual onto it, have photographers ephemeris installed along with iPhoto and others.
Have only just scratched the surface with what I can do with it but as I wanted it for my photography because of the retina display (which makes your images look utterly fantastic btw on a 2048 x 1536 resolution on a 9.7" LCD) I'm sure it will become indispensable.

On android tablets you need an otg capable usb port, very few tablets have this...

I can used a USB card reader, its just a pain, card in card out. also not found an app that recognises RAW+.
Just waiting on an app that allows sync, so can see live view on the tablet as my eyes are getting lazy and the screen on camera is getting smaller

Thinking my new iPad was my 40th birthday present, you can imagine the feeling when finding out at a surprise party that I was leaving in the morning for Barcelona for my first live Grand Prix!
This is a first for me, so not up to Simons standards or his level of access unfortunately!

Just for fun I thought I would have a quick play on the coach back to the hotel with my other birthday present and a hastily bought camera connection kit from Luton airport! These 2 images were imported as Raw files straight into the iPad and edited with Snapseed which was a freebie when we got it and is currently £2.99. It did show that, with a little more thought, that the iPad could very easily replace the laptop for travelling and the images (when sharp!) look absolutely stunning on it!
