Something Different - Flowers

Up to now, I've used my G5 for model/close-up work, mainly for the depth of field. Anyway, I thought I'd try using the K-S1. This is the result. It's a reworking of an idea, and, I think, is a slightly better version. Still needs work (to throw the background out of focus etc), but I'm getting there. Slowly...

The lighting on the pot and brushes is lovely. To get the background OOF with the settings you have used, if you have enough of the material, just move it back so rather than having a separation distance of 30cm from subject to backdrop, increase that

Bearing in mind that the 'material' is several sheets from a long roll of kitchen towel...

I did try to find pale grey crepe paper in various hobby/toy shops, but it seems to be the one colour they don't do. Strange.

Another option would be to dig out my old f1.7 smc Pentax-A 50mm lens, see how that goes...

Oh, and the thread title should be "Something Different - Flowers" - if any passing mod feels like correcting it...

I thought it was kitchen paper! Easy to offer further subject to background separation then! A local place to me sells all bits and pieces they get donated to them and for a fiver I bought a 1m x 30m reversible black and white vinyl!

The "Flowers" are certainly different and so sharp, very nice Still Life capture

Nice... like the little splits in the brushes, and the spot colours on them...
