Someone's Lost Memories

I paid what's likely to be a final visit to the derelict factory, this time with a tripod. The owner (who was actually very pleasant once he'd established what I was doing there) also owns a second site...of which more when I've had time to post process. He said the site was to be cleared any day now.

I found these poignant remains on the charred floor and thought you'd be interested in seeing them...

I'm liking the PP'ing on it also

Not too overdone? I wanted to enhance the period feel of the stuff...faded memories and that... I gave it the "new" sharpening treatment first.

Thank you Emma and Mat,

So glad you both like it.

To be honest, I was a bit apprehensive about posting it as its discovery (in what is really a dreadful place, half burnt down, full of charred remains and shards of glass etc.) brought me up short, looking briefly into someone's life.

I guess some photos mean more to us than others.

There were other moving artifacts there as well which I may post.

Best wishes,

Andrew

Thnaks Tim,

I reduced saturation on one layer, added a dark vignette then a second layer with a sepis tint then used soft light (I think) as a blend!

Sounds complicated Andrew, but it has certainly worked.

i-Berg,

I nprobably made it sound more comlicated than it was! I wanted some colour to pick up on the 1970s feel of the photo...kind of faded memories, broken dreams type of thing...(becoming all lyrical here!)

Regards,

Andrew

P.S. If you've any to spare, please would you send us some lovely Australian sunshine: it may be March here, but it's still very cold and in Scotland, I believe, the snow still lies in deep drifts!
Best wishes,

Andrew

Indeed Andrew - we've just had the biggest hailstorm on record (for us) here over the weekend . Some of the hailstones were reportedly of 4" diameter , although the biggest here at home was just larger than a golf ball. Cars and rooves trashed in a large swathe across Melbourne. The sun came out today, pretty much for the first time since.

Still, the weekend coming will apparently provide some photo opportunities.

I look at images posted here on PUF, and think the atmospherics provided by all your UK weather must be so good (especially for BW). The grass is always less brown...
