Hi John,
I think they could be common funnels, the gill texture is right and the colour is close, do they smell like almonds ?
if they are common funnels they are edible but I wouldn't recommend it without a professional confirmation.

Thanks Chris - I'll take a sniff when the grass is a little drier
I don't think I'm brave enough to sample them, even with a positive identification (I might if the person identifying them eats a plateful first)
