Some birds, from a short walk

These are from a short walk down by a river in the village next to ours. It was fairly frosty but the light wasn't bad overall. I was surprised by the variety of birds i saw, and i enjoyed the walk.
K5iis + tamron 70-200mm f2.8
All fairly heavy crops

A walk worth taking and very rewarding, I love the shot of the little Redpoll.

Great set, thank you for sharing them.

That Tamron seems great value...lovely and sharp with nice colour rendition as well...the new Pentax 70-200 is going to have to be exceptionally good to justify a price tag almost 4 times as much as the Tamron.

It will be especially tough to justify it when you consider that you could have the tamron and a new K3ii for the same money. I'm sure it will be fantastic, but I couldn't justify it.

I'm glad the redpoll got named as I didn't know what it was. I love the wren with its bushy eyebrow
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

I can't believe you got these while "out for a stroll" with just a 200mm lens.

Did the little buggers come and pose for you?

Excellent captures.

Cheers Alan, I do the weekly shopping in that town as there's no supermarket in ours and I had an hour to pass as I had to wait to collect my daughter also. I might just make it a weekly visit, if the weather allows. Birds in my village disappear once I step outside with the camera.
