Solstice

Woke up at 4.00 am to see the sky was quite light, and lay in bed thinking "shall I or shan't I?" This went on for fifteen minutes and finally thought, I am awake, the sky is clear, I am on the Cornish coast and it's the solstice, if I don't do it now I never will. On the short drive to the headland the pre-dawn sky was a glorious pink and I cursed myself for dithering, it had almost gone in the few minutes it took to get to my spot and set up. The sun was still below the horizon, it was cold and the wind was blowing hard so I set up the tripod behind a natural wind break on the cliff top, starting with the DFA 24-70mm and then changed to the DFA 70-200mm. Here is what unfolded.

I had some with me but didn't judge them necessary, rightly or wrongly. Also it was hard enough in the wind without adding a sail!
