After an extended period of foul weather, this morning provided a window of opportunity, so I set up and was rewarded for my time.

Note the hummingbird which popped in for a look as I pressed the shutter release:

Affirmative.

This Lunt LS100 can be configured as a "normal" 100mm f/7.1 for starry nights, as well.

It was a major sacrifice - it being a dual-purpose scope eases the pain somewhat.

Specialist gear from you both...but what is going on?

We have a white collar looking like something you'd leave the vets with usually around the neck or head
of a sick animal and on Spad's we have a tripod dressed with a black skirt!

How dare you!!! I'll have you know, its Miss Equitorial Mount to you!!! Fair enough she is a promiscuous young lady who stays out all night in the cold, in a field, with a fat cripple in his 50's.....

I think slapper or trollop would be a more appropriate name...

In actual fact, it is there to protect all the electronic (a router & alarm), and electrial (a huge powerbank and power supply) kit underneath it from frost.

The big white collar on Leslie Nielson's ( ) scope is to shield the observer from the sun
