That really is an unusual one! Glad to see the little Q in action (is that a new model?) and lucky you don't need a 560mm beast to photograph that creature ... I'll have to bow out and let our forum wildlife experts take over ... Although aspects of the face resemble an anteater ?

Bye the way , what is the significance of the 06 in your camera/lens designation?

Tapir is possible, thanks for that.

The Q-S1 is indeed the new one, and very nice it is too. The Q lenses are numbered, so the 01 is the 8.5mm f/1.9, the 06 is the 15-45mm f/2.8 telephoto zoom and the 08 is the new wide angle zoom. And so on.

Possibly a Brazilian tapir. Maybe the zoo website has a list of animals it keeps?

By its feet, snout, and what appear to be the beginnings of tusks, it looks as though it could be the juvenile of a variety of pig or wild boar.

Cheers.

I've had a look at the website for South Lakes Safari Zoo and the pigs section is under preparation, so no help in deciding if it's a form of pig. When I get a minute I'll do some searching on Google.

It could be a juvenile warthog. They are mostly hairless. Many wild pig species are pretty hairy.
