Snowmen and Reindeer

In early October 2024 my family and I stayed at our mountain cabin for a few days. The weather was unusually cold and there was also some snow, so we ended up building snowmen. The following week I went up to the cabin alone to do some maintenance, when I spotted some reindeer quite close to the cabin. Some of the reindeer were very interested in the half melted snowmen

Certainly different those Bjorn...I can honestly say those are the first images i've ever seen on this site containing both reindeer and snowmen

Thank you Karlo! Yes, a very unusual combination, even here in Norway. I am not into wildlife or animal photography, but I found the whole setting quite humerous, and therefore I wanted to share these images😄

A funny sight, indeed. My wife and I had a hytta (cottage) at Danebu in Valdres for many years and we never saw a reindeer in all that time. Plenty of other wildlife, but not those.

I wouldn’t mind having a cottage in Valdres, beautiful place. Out cottage is in Trøndelag, in an area where there is a largish reindeer population.
