I so want to like this photo as it has much going for it, I love the layers of varying light in the top 2/3rds but the black foreground and trees spoil it for as they detract from what would have been a very nice image.

Yes, fair comment. This pic was originally in colour and the tree in the foreground had Christmas balls and a star on top, photo shopped to produce a Christmas card!
