Probably out having fun somewhere. The ones I have met have a commendable knack of doing so.

The F SMC came in one version. with a 4,0-5,6 variable aperture.
Maybe there is a cheaper Takumar Non SMC version around. Don't know that for sure.

Neither of them come close to the build and optical quality of the SMC A.

Martin.
The only non SMC F versions I am aware of are the 70-200 and the 28-80.

Thanks, guys. Clarky. I know your enjoyment... I am putting in a whole new kitchen at this time. I realise that the A version is built like a tank but the F version is tiny in comparison, so easier to carry. With the A version, plus the F version plus the Sigma 35-105 coming somewhere between the two I am not sure which to keep and which to sell. Where is the world wide button on the Ebay site? Have entered ebay.com and tried to find the F lens there but still no joy. apologies for being such a pain.

It runs down the left hand side of your browser under preferences. You won't find the worldwide button on your summary page though, you have to run a search first, then look under preferences. I hope I explained that right

I have a Pentax F 35-105mm boxed and never used, so I can't help you with the IQ but it is quite small, I would keep it instead of the A version just for that reason alone.

Heres mine, such a pretty lens

I agree. It is a nice looking lens and easy to carry. I also have the F version of the 24-50 F4 and I like that a lot. The F 70-210 is covered by my DA 50-200 and so that must go. Still searching for a price guide for the Sigma 35-105 3.5/4.7. Must try the worldwide E.bay. Thanks for your guidance. Hope your homework progresses without injury.
