Slideshow Software

Does anyone know of a free to use slideshow maker programme that allows you to use different music in different sections of the show. I have an old version of picturestoexe but it only allows one tack for the whole show. I've tried Windows Movie Maker but it won't let me save the show in a formatt to play on an older DVD player.

Any suggestions welcome

It's not free of course, but the new version of Pictures2Exe is very slick.
Best regards, John

Some of the software I've looked at is not expensive, but the thing I'm doing is a bit of one off, and so it might not be used again.

I've had a look Tom, I can only find a professional version of Photo DVD maker you pay for and the trail limits you to a max of 36 slides, not enough. The one in the link seems to only allow one music track.

Couldn't you do the soundtrack as a complete mix and then add it to the video track. Alternatively do small complete video/audio sections and then merge them all into one.

ShotCut video editor can create slideshows from stills [with transitions] and allows for adding different audio tracks on a single or multiple timeline.
It's Open Source and free. Shallow learning curve too.
