Hi Mac,
They are the same thing. Sometimes batteries are known by different numbers in different places and by different manufacturers. The 380 is the high current drain version of the 394. Other numbers here: http://www.smallbattery.company.org.uk/index.htm?http://www.smallbattery.company...

Good ol' Kim C to the rescue.
Thank's again! I'll post feedback once I try 'em. They work out to about a buck Cdn per, including S&H. Sure beats the cost of Wein's (closer to $7.00 per).
I can't remember where/if you covered this, but is there also an easy answer for the Spotmatic F's larger battery - other than Wein's Z625PX?
Cheers

The easiest direct replacement to find is the 625 alkaline. These work and are cheap but remember my comments about the AG9's in the other thread http://www.smallbattery.company.org.uk/index.htm?http://www.smallbattery.company...
There is a silver version of these but they are difficult to find and are expensive. http://www.smallbattery.company.org.uk/index.htm?http://www.smallbattery.company...
I find the cheapest and easiest option is to use the SR44 cells. These are also used in nearly all the K mount MF cameras so it saves keeping different batteries if you have K mount. They don't have the ring but this is not a real problem in the SPF but can be in other cameras. I do have some Aluminium rings which go round the battery and can send a couple. Altewrnatively get and old 625 and carefully remove the insides. This then acts as a battery holder and costs about 10 mins work! Other numbers for the SR44 are here. http://www.smallbattery.company.org.uk/index.htm?http://www.smallbattery.company... Be wary and make sure you get the silver oxide version and not the alkaline. I pay about 50p for the silvers and about 10p for the alkaline version.
The Small Battery company is not the cheapest place to get batteries even in the UK but they are a good source of info and can be very helful and useful for the really awkward ones such as the LR50 used in very early Canon's.

In previous and numerous posts on this subject, it has become clear to me that it is certainly worth trying silver oxide batteries as a replacement for the 400 and 625 mercury batteries used in the Spotmatic cameras. I have Wein's presently but worry about lifespan, leakage and cost.
The 394/SR936 was offered as a good fit to replace the 400's. My problem is that they only seem to be readily available in the UK (eBay).
What appears to abound in the US are 394/380's. Will these do? (Hope so- just ordered some Eveready's (even though I HATE that wabbit!))
Thank's as usual.
