sigma having a laugh

hi mike my camera is going to srs monday, srs are paying for collection, so sigma should get it maybe wednesday if im lucky or thursday latest, its a pain because i wanted my k20 for the weeding i have next weekend, but i better have it back for def the week after as im getting married then and want to use my k20d + i want it for my holiday after,

but srs have been very good,so thanks to chris and his crew,

I have never herd of such bunkum in all my life and I do feel for you Scott. Surely, if Sigma make a lens for a Pentax fit camera, it should fit and work on a Pentax camera, whether its a K20, K200 etc. If your K20 body is calibrated to this particular lens, does this mean it will not function on your K200 or any other Pentax Bodies? Given your circumstances Scott I would have a word with your Trading Standards Department, you will be surprised at what they can do. I know you bought this second hand and warranties are technically not transferable, but this lens is not fit for use.

hi rees i said this exact point to chris at srs, and sigma them selfs who could not promise it would work on all cameras if it does not i will have to take it further, like i also said what if i get a k7 or gx30, and what is the point of having the af adjustment built into the camera.
well at the moment im still not convinced it will come back pucker, which it should do, but the way im looking at it is that all my other lenses work with both my k20 and k200d so if the 150-500mm is calibrated to my k20d it should be pucker on my k200d(im hoping) just cant understand why one of the biggest lens companys in the world can't 0 calibrate a lens(like a brand new lens)it does worry me(and im scared my k20d is gonna come back marked or dirty)

also if i comes to sell it and its only good on the k20d im knackered)

I think a lot of the trouble is that like all third party lens manufacturers Sigma reverse engineered the K-mount and im sure it cant be done 100% right.

i think your right mike, none of the sigma mounts have been tight fitting like the pentax and tamron lenses i have, so that cant be good,

Probably didn't help Sigma that all the mounts had to also fit
Ricoh, Chinon, Cosina and whoever else made K mount lenses.

Shouldn't really effect the focus though, but if they do adjust
the lens to focus accurately on your screen in manual and auto
it should be the best combination of any brand.
