Hi All,

I have just had stocks of this, the first Sigma lens with HSM and very nice it is too - focus is very rapid!

I will be in touch with the people who pre-ordered shortly and I have a few left for regular stock - £460 for a forum user delivered.

I'm sure Mike-P will be very interested.
Not a bad price either.

Its the Sigma 150mm macro I am waiting for

It seems a bit strange to me that Sigma release a 50-150mm f2.8 and a 70-200mm f2.8 at virtually the same time.

Unless I am missing something I would have thought 99% of the buyers would choose the extra 50mm at the long end and prefer the slight loss at the shorter.

I seem to have a thing for Tamron adaptall 2 lenses at the moment, just got one of THESE off Ebay for £28 to go with my 70-210mm SP f3.5. Should work nicely with the other PKA mount I bought off John the other week.

Has the 70-200mm f2.8 been released already? How much is that going for?

According to Sigma it should have just been released so I reckon a few weeks to get into the shops.

Then all I have to decide is whether to get the Tamron or Sigma. I would like to use either of them with a 2X converter, the Sigma has the matched apo version for their lens but I cannot seem to find a decent qualitry Tamron 2x converter.
Of course if they release the 2.8 150mm Sigma macro then they both go out the window.

The 70-200 is on it's way, hopefully here by the end of the week.

The Tamron 70-200/2.8 is also due in the next few days.

I have just been informed that the Tamron 70-200/2.8 will be with me tomorrow (9th)

I can supply for £499 including postage to forum users.

The Sigma will retail for £699 including a 2x converter. It can be supplied without the converter for £649.

I shot a music festival last weekend using a 70-200mm lens which was not quiete wide enough for me & I very rarely used the 200mm end, but in between was about right for me.

Interested in the 50-150mm but how much faster than the DA*50-135mm is the focus????

Chris
Which converter will be supplied? A Sigma or Kenko version, or something else?

I have just had the Tamron lens arrive..

Certainly was , I was surprised how long 70mm was, being used to 17-50mm I thought it would be wide enough, meant I had to keep walking back to the fan barrier for wide shots & missing jumps etc...

Am I missing something or would most people prefer a weather sealed pentax lens at the expense of £40 over a sigma lens with 15mm more at the long end?
