Anyone used one of these?

I gather from the of lens database it has a push pull zoom, which puts me off a bit. But gather its supposed to be quite sharp, the constant appeture appeals.

Any info or views very welcome.

Yes have used one - previously. But have since unfortunately gotten rid of it. If the offer came around again, I'd have zero hesitation about purchasing one.

Most of them have very few "technical" issues with the push pull zoom; even when aimed straight upwards or downwards. It's simply a user preference.

Interestingly enough; Sigma is working on at least three zoom lenses in (about) this focal length. One will be a Pentax version of a full framer with a constant aperture of at least f2.8 or better - in the general 80-200 range . Unfortunately just like the present Sigma 24-70 f2.8, the lens will also have a quite large size and weight. Not sure about the specifics of the others. Also possibly related; look for Sigma to be expanding their WR line considerably

Thanks for the info.

Think I'll pass on it and save up for something else. I think the chap selling it was looking for offers circa 50.

I have one. I like its output on my K-7, although it rarely gets used because of my 60-250. The push/pull element is quite stiff and I haven't come across a problem. My only issue is that it came without a hood and I never got round to buying one. Funnily enough I was wondering, earlier today, how well it would work on the hopefully not mythical FF body or whatever replaces the K-3 in the APSC space.
